Show me the money

Less than a week after BBC climate correspondent Paul Hudson asked what happened to global warming , the New York Times is asking who's going to pay for it ?

It’s a question worth thinking about – especially as New Zealand is one of the affluent nations likely to be landed with the bill (as opposed to “poorer countries” such as Saudi Arabia ).

Remember back when Kyoto was going to make us a fortune ?

Still, it seems as though we’re not the only country whose bureaucrats and politicians can’t add up too well. That UN Adaptation Fund referred to by the Times wouldn’t be the same one that had twice as much in it two years ago would it?

Meanwhile, Jeanette’s ashamed to be a Kiwi: we’d be happy to bet she’s glad she’s not a Yank or an Indian.
